The method of learning through failure

 Learning through failure

You feel like you're going to revolutionize the world, like CEOs Steve Jobs or Elon Musk did, and then you seem unstoppable.

This was the feeling I had when I came up with the idea for Wannarent at the age of 14. It was my attempt to revolutionize the sharing market, because I thought it would be useful if people could share items like tools and equipment. sports that they rarely use together; It will be cheaper than buying new things, plus it will save storage space in your home, so it should be just like Airbnb, except that mine is for things instead of rooms.

So I literally dreamed of building an app that was more advanced than Uber or Airbnb, but I had no idea where to start, I didn't know anything about apps. or start-ups, nothing at all, and I couldn't program, design, or write a business plan, I had absolutely nothing, and the only thing I knew was that my godfather, Harry, knew business; So I asked him and he became my first mentor, and with his guidance, I started writing down and defining the idea, and after half a year he introduced me to my designer, Denise, who helped me design the app, and it looked amazing; And a little later, I started looking for programmers.

Insurance was one of the things I wanted to incorporate into the app, so things would be insured during the rental. Harry helped me contact several large insurance companies, and soon we had meetings with a couple of high-level executives, and after three meetings with one of them, We had a solid plan, I felt great, and my ego was beyond measure.

Two weeks later, after I had just given a presentation to the jury about our amazing plan, I got an email from the insurance company saying, "We're sorry, our board has canceled innovation funds, and we can't continue with Wannarent." )"; That was a painful moment for me.

1. Start with a friend:

It's more fun, and studies have shown that startups with 2-4 founders are more successful.

2. Know the essential parts of your business:

So how do you want to know if something is good when you know nothing about it? Learn the basics of every part of your business. This can include programming, design, marketing, and finance. Also start reading business books, listening to podcasts, or watching videos that It is provided by successful entrepreneurs, and learn from the experiences of others.

3. Find a mentor:

Attend social events, start talking to people, ask them for advice, or even tell them that you want to receive mentoring at their hands. Many people are happy to help young people, tell them about your idea, ask them for advice and if they can help you in some way, another way is to text them via social media such as LinkedIn.

4. Keep costs minimal (in the beginning):

Your first product doesn't have to be perfect, you don't need a patent, you don't need an expensive domain, these are things you can buy when you know people love what you have to offer.

5. Start doing everything yourself.

If possible, don't hire anyone, or spend a lot of money on producing your product. You have the tools to build anything yourself. For apps, there's Glide, and for websites, there's Wix.com. .com), and most of the time a do-it-yourself tool is enough to get you started, and besides, you'll learn a lot, too.

6. I err and fail:

One of the mentors, Stefan, once said to me, "I can tell you the mistakes you'll make, but most of the mistakes you have to make yourself, or you won't believe me"; So just make mistakes, and learn as you go along.

No one builds a company the same way as another; It's like most other areas of life, there isn't one perfect way, but there are 100 good ways, and the only thing that matters is trying.

Conclusion :

  • One must always keep in mind that no success can be achieved without setting a certain goal towards one's eyes.
  • One should always express this goal in one's heart several times or out loud.Like: “I want to pass this exam,” or “I have to get that job.”
  • Over time, these phrases reach the subconscious, which strengthens the person's will and determination to implement what he wants and avoid failure in it.
  • Before embarking on work, it is necessary to think about the most important means to achieve success and arrange them according to their importance.
  • As many secondary things in our lives kill motivation in us.
  • The right time should be chosen and planned in advance and things should not be left to chance as this will cause stress and confusion for the person.
  • One should put work plans for the day, week, and month as well as appointments in one's own diary.
  • Draw goals and assignments as geometric shapes or random drawings on paper.
  • Because that will make them real thoughts and not just mental or internal thoughts.
  • Trying to get rid of all negative thoughts, such as believing that the business will fail or that the outcome will be negative.
  • No one should say, “I can't do this,” “I can't make it,” or “I'm going to fail.”
  • Before starting any important work a person should focus on what he is going to do and relax before starting work.
  • It is the lack of focus that causes confusion and errors and thus provides a percentage of self-motivation.
  • High levels of concentration can be achieved by sleeping enough hours, eating healthy food, and taking breaks from time to time.
